Global address book not updating when running in cached mode

The following information in the GAL might not be available in the offline address book: Outlook must be able to access Exchange to obtain this information.

New or deleted users are updated, but aliases and distribution groups are not. EDIT: Actually, I noticed that opening the address list and checking the properties, the alias is correct. I am assuming that someone simply renamed another account when an employee left.

Deleting the OAB on a machine will force a full download, but if the files are dated July then that isn't going to help.

To get the OAM to immediately generate run the following command: Update-Offline Addressbook “name of offline address book”.

The offline address book is a snapshot of information from the Global Address List (GAL).

Therefore, not all the information in the GAL is available in the offline address book.

Can anyone help me understand what is going on here, and how I might go about fixing it.
